Burlington, ON – The Doug Gilmour & Friends Bowling for Kids fundraising event held at Burlington Bowl marked Jen Hamilton of Burlington, Ontario as the lucky prize winner for the Toronto Maple Leaf bowling ball autographed by retired NHL star and former Toronto Maple Leafs captain, Doug Gilmour.

Many residents of Burlington and the Halton Region took advantage of this great bowling fundraising offer with family and friends over the ten day event.

Select bowling centres across the Greater Toronto Area teamed up with Doug Gilmour to raise funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities (“RMHC”) - an organization dedicated to helping Ronald McDonald Houses and other children’s charities across the country. The public was invited to play for a fraction of the regular price of bowling. Each participating bowling centre then donated proceeds to RMHC.

“When I retired from the NHL, I knew I wanted to devote time and my name to a children’s charity that was committed to improving the quality of life for children with life-threatening or chronic illness and disabilities and RMHC does just that,” said Gilmour. “I also wanted to come up with a fundraising idea for a fun event so that I could enlist the support of my good friends and the corporate world. Bowling is a favourite of mine and anybody can bowl.”

Burlington Bowl also gave away two hockey sticks signed by Doug Gilmour. The lucky prize winners were Sam Rousell of Dundas, Ontario and Michael Hutton of Burlington, Ontario.

“Doug Gilmour’s fundraising event was a tremendous success for the charity and the communities of Burlington and Halton Region,” stated Warren Manoff, Manager of Customer Services at Burlington Bowl. “We’re very excited to participate in next year’s event.”

Other prize winners from Burlington Bowl included Nancy Bouhouis of Burlington and Meghan Campbell of Milton, each winning “Free Bowling for a Year”. The prize is redeemable at Burlington Bowl, or any other participating bowling centre in the Greater Toronto Area.

Les Wallace of Oakville and Trevor Luck of Oakville each won “Free Food for a Year” at McDonalds.

Burlington Bowl has been serving the communities of Burlington and Halton Region for over 30 years. It is Halton Region’s largest bowling centre, and always offers a fun-filled bowling experience to its customers. Burlington Bowl’s exclusive “Bowl For FREE” Rewards program is available to all league members.
