  1. The tournament will be sanctioned by the Canadian Tenpin Federation. The tournament is a scratch (no handicap) tournament open to all male and female players who are current members in good standing of the Canadian Tenpin Federation (CTF). Non-CTF members can qualify for entry, without CTF high score recognition, by paying a participation fee of $5.00. Non-CTF entrants wishing to qualify for CTF awards must pay $26.00 for CTF affiliate membership. All participants must present a valid CTF membership card at registration.
  2. Should any person enter and bowl in the Canadian Bowling Open who is not eligible as a CTF member, he/she shall forfeit any claims to refund or prize money.
  3. The tournament will be conducted following the general playing rules of the Canadian Tenpin Federation rules.
  4. Prize ratio will be at least one (1) in every six (6) entries.

However, in the case of absence or inability of a prepaid entry to bowl prior to the start of the tournament, players may designate a substitute/replacement player, either verbally or in writing directly to the Tournament Director, to take the prepaid entrant’s place in the tournament a minimum of 15 minutes prior to the start of the tournament. No other substations/replacements can be made after the start of the tournament.
  8. PBA-exempt players or former touring PBA players whose PBA membership has not been terminated for more than two (2) years prior to the tournament date will not be permitted to bowl. Regional PBA members are eligible to compete, provided they do not fall under one of these classifications.
  9. The Tournament Director will attempt to even up all lane pairings. In the event of odd number of participants during any round of the tournament, a player who draws lanes alone must bowl alone. Upon refusal to do so, the player will be disqualified and no entry fee or prize winnings will be returned.
  10. In the event of a major equipment breakdown, the Tournament Director reserves the right to transfer players to other lanes.

One (1) in three (3) entries in the Desperado Squad (to a maximum of the 8 players) will advance from the Desperado Squad to Round 1 of the tournament. Only players who entered and bowled in the 4 game qualifying round may enter the Desperado Squad.
  13. Lanes will be conditioned prior to practice time on May 18, 2009. This will not be a sport shot or a typical league condition type of pattern.
